QuickCash Loans
Compare QuickCash quick loans in NZ. Review interest rates, fees, security requirements, eligibility and early repayment options. Subject to approval.
Review basis: Researched on 5 October 2026 using QuickCash’s official application form, application guidance, pricing disclosure, responsible lending information, example contract and privacy policy. The published fee schedule is dated 21 February 2024. Official pages contain conflicting information about security, rates and costs; these differences are explained below. No application was submitted or funding time tested. All amounts are in New Zealand dollars. Suitability comments are editorial assessments.
QuickCash quick loans: costs, requirements and limitations
- Provider and purpose: Quick Cash Finance Limited is a direct New Zealand lender offering loans for emergency expenses and other personal borrowing needs.
- Loan amounts: The application form advertises $501–$20,000 secured and $200–$500 unsecured, subject to approval. Other website wording says security is required for every loan, so confirm unsecured availability.
- Repayment terms: An undated advertising-policy page states one to five years. Current terms for each application option need confirmation.
- Interest and APR: The main disclosure publishes annual interest of 12.5%–29.99%, depending on credit profile and security. Other rate tables differ. A separate 26.97% APR claim is not a reliable current comparison figure; see the pricing discrepancies.
- Fees: Published establishment fees are $175–$350 for advances up to $5,000, plus $5.34 weekly administration. Obtain a quotation for larger amounts and any additional charges.
- Security and insurance: Secured borrowing puts the pledged asset at risk. The example contract requires insurance on secured assets, adding a potential cost beyond repayments.
- Eligibility and application: Apply through QuickCash’s website, subject to identity, credit and affordability checks. Its terms require applicants to be over 18 and not undischarged bankrupt.
- Assessment: Online processing and no advertised early repayment penalty are useful features. Substantial fees on small advances and inconsistent public disclosures are the main limitations.
Alexander Balanoff on QuickCash
With QuickCash, I would ask what the loan will cost if you repay it on your intended date. On a small advance, the setup fee can matter more than a modest difference in interest rates, and settling early does not necessarily remove that upfront cost. At LoansFinder, we encourage readers to compare the cash they actually receive with everything they will pay back. If you expect to repay quickly, ask each lender for a settlement estimate for the same date—that is a more useful comparison than the advertised annual rate alone.
QuickCash eligibility and required documents
QuickCash assesses your ability to repay alongside your credit history. Its website terms require applicants to be over 18 and not undischarged bankrupt. Confirm residency requirements directly; the application asks about New Zealand residency without clearly explaining every accepted status.
- Identification and finances: Have your NZ passport or NZ driver licence, online banking access and details of income, expenses and existing debts ready. QuickCash requests the last 90 days of bank transactions.
- Secured applications: Its guidance requires a vehicle registered in your name, without outstanding finance, with a current WOF and registration, and worth more than the amount borrowed.
- Credit history: The unsecured application option specifies good credit with no bad debts. QuickCash says some applicants with impaired credit may qualify after considering affordability, security and the amount requested.
Security remains an unresolved disclosure issue: the form offers an unsecured option, while its FAQ says all loans require security. Confirm the requirements for your chosen amount before submitting an application.
When a QuickCash loan may be suitable
QuickCash may suit someone with a one-off expense, sufficient repayment capacity and a plan to settle early. Its advertised absence of early repayment penalties provides flexibility, although upfront fees still need to be considered.
Reconsider if you need only a small advance, already struggle with essential bills, or would have to pledge a vehicle you depend on for work. Compare personal loan costs and ask the bill provider about a payment arrangement. For recurring shortfalls, debt management support may be more useful than another loan.
How to apply for a QuickCash loan
Application and assessment
Use the official application form, provide your financial and identification details, then supply the requested bank transactions. QuickCash performs credit and affordability checks. If approved, it sends the agreement for electronic signing before advancing the funds.
Its privacy policy explains that personal information is shared with credit reporting agencies for identity and creditworthiness checks. Treat an application as a credit application, not a confirmed soft-check quotation.
How quickly could the money arrive?
The emergency-loan page advertises approval within 25 minutes. The process page separately describes funds clearing within 60 minutes after approval. These are lender claims, not a verified end-to-end service commitment. Confirm document requirements, processing availability and expected payment time before relying on the money for a deadline.
Questions to resolve before signing
- Is my offer secured or unsecured, and which assets would be at risk?
- What are my annual interest rate, repayment schedule and total amount repayable, including financed fees and required insurance?
- Which published rate table applies, and can the interest rate or fees change under my agreement?
- What would settlement cost if I repay early, and which upfront or security-release charges remain payable?
- What happens after a missed payment, and when will approved funds reach my account?
QuickCash advantages and limitations
- Advantages: Direct lender contact, an online application process and no advertised early repayment penalty. Applicants with imperfect credit can receive an individual assessment.
- Limitations: Establishment and weekly fees can weigh heavily on small loans. Secured borrowing carries asset-loss risk and insurance obligations. Conflicting disclosures make a written quotation particularly important.
QuickCash interest rates, fees and total cost
Published rates need clarification
The main disclosure states an annual interest rate, or AIR, of 12.5%–29.99%. AIR excludes credit fees. The lowest advertised rate relates to a qualifying first-mortgage arrangement, so it should not be assumed available for a small emergency loan.
The emergency-loan table lists vehicle-backed rates of 16%, 18% and 26%, depending on the loan relative to the security’s value. The responsible lending table instead reaches 30% for that security category and lists unsecured rates of 26%–29.99%. The reviewed pages do not establish which table supersedes the other.
Establishment and ongoing fees
The published schedule, dated 21 February 2024, lists:
| Charge | Published amount |
|---|---|
| Establishment: $200–$500 advance | $175 |
| Establishment: $501–$1,000 advance | $250 |
| Establishment: $1,001–$5,000 advance | $350 |
| Administration | $5.34 weekly while the loan remains active |
| Cancellation | $175, where applicable |
| Payment default | $1.55 daily, charged weekly, plus published default interest of 8% annually on overdue amounts |
The establishment fee is added to the loan. The published brackets stop at $5,000; obtain the fee for larger advances. Additional correspondence, enforcement, third-party recovery and property-security charges may apply. Check the full schedule against your offer.
Fee-only illustration: A $500 advance kept open for 52 weekly administration charges would attract $452.68 in establishment and administration fees: $175 + (52 × $5.34). This assumes the published charges apply unchanged and excludes interest, insurance and other charges. It is not a repayment quotation.
Insurance and contract conditions
The example contract requires secured goods to remain insured to their full insurable value, with the lender’s interest recorded. Obtain the premium, excess and exclusions; asset insurance does not establish that your repayments are covered.
Although QuickCash advertises fixed rates, clause 12 of its example contract permits rate and fee changes subject to notice. Ask how this provision applies to your offer. Failure to meet a secured agreement can lead to repossession and sale of the asset.
Why the published repayment example needs updating
QuickCash’s advertising-policy page illustrates $5,000 over 52 weeks, repaying $6,348.68: principal plus $738.68 interest, $260 administration and a $350 establishment fee. The components add up, but $260 administration does not match 52 charges of $5.34, which total $277.68.
That page also states a maximum APR of 26.97% and terms of one to five years. Its pricing does not reconcile with the other disclosures, and the example lacks the complete repayment details needed to verify its interest calculation. Treat these figures as requiring confirmation, not as a current offer or dependable APR ceiling.
Is QuickCash worth considering?
QuickCash’s strongest feature is the ability to repay early without an advertised penalty. Its main drawback is that fees can make a small advance expensive, while inconsistent disclosures complicate comparison. Compare a written, fully costed offer with other quick loan options using the same amount and repayment period. Include insurance costs and the consequences of pledging an asset.
QuickCash quick loan FAQs
Why might my QuickCash rate be higher than the advertised 12.5%?
The 12.5% rate in QuickCash’s pricing table applies to a qualifying residential first mortgage with a registered valuation and a low loan-to-value ratio. It is not the standard rate for a small cash loan. Its vehicle-backed rate tables also differ between pages. Compare your personalised rate and total repayment with other quick loan offers, using the same amount, term and security requirements.
How much does a $500 QuickCash loan cost before interest?
The fee schedule dated 21 February 2024 lists a $175 establishment fee for advances of $200–$500, plus $5.34 weekly administration. On a $500 advance, the establishment fee alone equals 35% of the cash borrowed; this is not an annual interest rate. Confirm the current charges and compare the total repayment with alternatives. A lower advertised interest rate can be outweighed by higher fees.
Can I borrow from QuickCash without using my car as security?
The application form advertises unsecured loans of $200–$500 for applicants with good credit and no bad debts, alongside secured loans of $501–$20,000. However, other wording says all loans require security. Confirm unsecured availability before applying. If another lender offers an unsecured loan for your required amount, compare its full cost against QuickCash’s secured offer, including insurance and the risk to your asset.
Can I apply with bad credit, and is checking my rate a credit application?
QuickCash says it checks credit with every application, although poor credit does not automatically rule out approval. Affordability, security and the amount requested also matter. Its reviewed pages do not establish a separate soft-check quotation service. Before applying simply to compare rates, ask whether QuickCash can provide an indicative quotation without recording a credit enquiry, and whether that quotation includes all fees.
What extra costs and risks come with using my car as security?
QuickCash’s example contract requires secured goods to remain insured to their full insurable value, with the lender’s interest recorded. Include any additional insurance premium when comparing the offer with an unsecured loan. The contract also provides for repossession and sale following default. A smaller loan does not remove the risk to the pledged vehicle, particularly if you rely on it for work.
Does QuickCash’s 25-minute claim mean the money will reach me that quickly?
Do not treat it as a confirmed application-to-payment time. The emergency-loan page promotes 25-minute approval and funding, while its process page separately describes cleared funds within 60 minutes after approval. Assessment requires bank transactions and credit checks, followed by signing. When comparing lenders for an urgent expense, ask whether each quoted time starts at application, receipt of all documents, approval or signing.
Will repaying my QuickCash loan early substantially reduce the cost?
QuickCash advertises no early repayment fee, and its weekly administration charge applies only while the loan remains active. Early settlement can therefore reduce future interest and administration charges. However, do not assume it refunds the establishment fee. Ask for a settlement estimate for your intended repayment date and compare that amount with competing offers; this is more useful than comparing their full-term interest rates if you expect to repay quickly.
Could topping up my QuickCash loan trigger another establishment fee?
Yes. QuickCash’s fee schedule expressly includes top-ups and restructures within the establishment-fee description. Ask whether the transaction increases your existing loan or replaces it, which fee bracket applies, and whether the repayment term restarts. Compare the additional cash received with the increase in total remaining repayments. A small top-up can be expensive if it brings another setup charge or extends repayment of the existing balance.
What if I cannot afford a repayment?
Call 0800 784 252 and ask about assistance. QuickCash’s hardship process requests a written application and 90 days of bank statements. Its published default charges include $1.55 daily and 8% annual default interest on overdue amounts. Ask whether charges continue during assessment and how any proposed arrangement changes the total cost. You can also seek independent debt management support.
How can I challenge a QuickCash fee or a difference between my quote and agreement?
Contact 0800 784 252 or info@qcf.co.nz, identifying the disputed amount and providing the quotation, agreement or relevant screenshot. Request a written explanation and the outcome you want. QuickCash’s complaints page identifies Financial Services Complaints Limited as its external scheme. If unresolved, contact FSCL on 0800 347 257; its consumer service is free.
