Review basis: Researched on 14 October 2026 using QuickCash Finance’s official application form, borrowing disclosure and fee schedule dated 21 February 2024, application guide, responsible lending information and example contract. Published security requirements, rate tables and repayment information are inconsistent; those limitations are identified below. No personalised quotation was obtained. Suitability assessments are editorial judgements based on these documents.

QuickCash Finance loans for short-term expenses: summary

  • Provider and purpose: Quick Cash Finance Limited is a New Zealand direct lender offering finance for expenses including emergencies. A distinct payday-style product with a verified short repayment term was not established.
  • Amounts and security: The application lists unsecured loans of $200–$500 for applicants with good credit and no bad debts, and secured loans of $501–$20,000. Its FAQ nevertheless says all loans require security, so confirm which option is available.
  • Repayment term: An official advertising-policy page states one to five years, but contains inconsistent pricing information. A shorter contractual term could not be verified. Early repayment is advertised without an early repayment fee.
  • Interest and APR: The main disclosure states fixed annual interest of 12.5%–29.99%, depending on credit profile and security. Other rate tables differ. The separately published 26.97% maximum APR cannot be relied on as a current fee-inclusive comparison.
  • Fees: Published establishment charges are $175–$350 for advances of $200–$5,000, plus $5.34 weekly administration. Establishment pricing above $5,000 needs confirmation. Default and conditional charges may apply.
  • Insurance: The example secured contract requires insurance over collateral. Confirm the required cover and premium; asset insurance should not be treated as protection against losing your income.
  • Application and suitability: Apply online, subject to identity, credit and affordability checks. It may suit an affordable one-off expense, but fixed fees can weigh heavily on small loans and secured borrowing puts the pledged asset at risk.
Founder perspective

Alexander Balanoff on QuickCash Finance

For a QuickCash loan you expect to clear quickly, ask for two settlement figures: one for your planned repayment date and another for a month later, assuming you maintain scheduled repayments. Upfront fees can make brief borrowing expensive even without an early repayment penalty, while extra weekly charges matter if you need longer. At LoansFinder, we encourage comparing the same amount received over realistic repayment periods. That helps you see whether an offer remains affordable if your repayment plan takes longer than expected.

QuickCash Finance eligibility and documents

QuickCash’s published website terms require applicants to be over 18 and not undischarged bankrupts. Its application guide requests a New Zealand passport or driver licence, online banking and access to the last 90 days of bank transactions. Expect a credit check and an assessment of whether repayments fit your finances.

For vehicle security, the FAQ specifies a vehicle registered in your name, without outstanding finance, with a current warrant of fitness and registration. Its value must exceed the amount borrowed. The application also asks about residency, employment, income and expenses; it does not establish that every residency or employment situation is accepted.

When QuickCash may suit a short-term need

QuickCash may be worth comparing for a defined, one-off expense where you have a credible repayment plan. However, needing money briefly does not mean the lender offers a brief contractual term.

For a small bill, first ask the supplier about a payment arrangement: the establishment charge can outweigh the benefit of a lower interest rate. For a larger expense, compare personal loan costs and repayment options. Reconsider pledging a vehicle you depend on for work, particularly if your budget already falls short each month. In that situation, help with managing existing debt may be more useful than another advance.

How the QuickCash application works

Application and assessment

Start through the official application form, supplying the requested borrowing, identity and financial information. QuickCash then requests bank transactions, checks credit and assesses affordability. If approved, review the disclosure and agreement before signing electronically. Applications involving a guarantor may require additional paperwork.

Its Privacy Policy explains that information is shared with credit agencies for identity and creditworthiness checks. Read the consent wording before submitting personal or banking information.

Approval and payment timing

QuickCash’s emergency-loan advertising mentions 25-minute funding, while its process guide describes assessment within 25 minutes and cleared funds within 60 minutes after approval. These are different descriptions, not a confirmed deadline for your application. Ask when funds could arrive after all required checks and signing are complete.

Repayment support and complaints

For assistance, call 0800 784 252 or email info@qcf.co.nz. Published support hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5pm. QuickCash asks hardship applicants to submit a written request and 90 days of bank statements.

Raise complaints with QuickCash first. Its complaints page identifies Financial Services Complaints Limited as its external dispute resolution scheme. Contact FSCL on 0800 347 257 for guidance about an unresolved complaint.

Questions to resolve before accepting

  • Is my loan secured or unsecured, and exactly which assets would secure it?
  • What is the shortest available term, and what would settlement cost on my intended repayment date?
  • What fixed annual interest rate applies, and what is the total payable including every compulsory charge?
  • Does the repayment include administration fees, and is interest charged on the financed establishment fee?
  • What insurance is required, what does it exclude, and are its premiums included in the quotation?
  • Which dated fee schedule governs the agreement where website figures differ?

QuickCash advantages and limitations

  • Fixed interest: An agreed fixed rate helps with planning, although fees still affect the overall cost.
  • Early repayment flexibility: QuickCash advertises no early repayment fee, which matters if your need for credit ends sooner than expected.
  • Direct application: Borrowers can deal with the lender online and contact its support team.
  • Small-loan cost: Establishment and weekly charges can be substantial relative to the cash received.
  • Disclosure inconsistencies: Security, pricing and term information need written clarification before comparison.
  • Collateral exposure: A secured agreement can put the pledged vehicle or other asset at risk if obligations are not met.

QuickCash interest, fees and total borrowing cost

Published rates need careful interpretation

The main disclosure quotes an annual interest rate, or AIR, of 12.5%–29.99%. AIR excludes fees. The lowest advertised rate relates to particular property-backed lending conditions; it should not be assumed available for a small cash loan.

QuickCash’s responsible lending table separately lists unsecured interest of 26%–29.99% and some secured rates of 30%, while its emergency-loan table shows different secured pricing. These pages do not establish one consistent current rate schedule. Obtain the rate applicable to your security, amount and credit assessment in writing.

Establishment and ongoing charges

Advance amount Published establishment fee
$200–$500 $175
$501–$1,000 $250
$1,001–$5,000 $350
Above $5,000 Confirm directly; no corresponding band in the inspected schedule.

The establishment fee is added to the loan. Administration costs $5.34 weekly while the account remains active. For perspective, a $175 establishment fee equals 35% of a $500 advance before interest or ongoing charges; this is an editorial calculation, not an APR.

The schedule also lists a $175 cancellation charge and conditional security-related costs. Cancellation and early repayment are different events: request an itemised explanation of any charge relevant to your agreement.

Insurance and missed payments

Clause 32 of the example contract requires collateral insurance, with the lender’s interest recorded. Premiums, excesses and policy exclusions require a separate check. The contract calculates ordinary interest daily on the unpaid balance and charges it weekly.

Published default costs include an 8% annual default interest rate on the overdue amount and a $1.55 daily default fee, charged weekly. Reminder and recovery charges may also arise. Ask how default interest interacts with ordinary interest rather than assuming 8% replaces the agreed rate.

Published example: unsuitable as a current quotation

The advertising-policy example shows $5,000 over 52 weeks, with $738.68 interest, $260 administration and a $350 establishment fee: $6,348.68 altogether. However, $260 represents $5 weekly, whereas the inspected fee schedule specifies $5.34. That page also publishes a 26.97% maximum APR alongside interest information inconsistent with other disclosures.

These figures are reproduced to explain the discrepancy, not as current pricing. Compare a personalised repayment schedule showing the cash received, financed fees, insurance costs, regular repayments and final total. Check affordability after essential expenses and existing debts.

Is QuickCash suitable for short-term borrowing?

QuickCash’s strongest feature for someone planning to clear a loan promptly is its stated absence of early repayment fees. Its main limitations are substantial fixed charges on small advances and inconsistent public product information. Compare the total cost up to your intended settlement date with other short-term borrowing options, including any required insurance. Do not select it on approval speed or the lowest advertised interest rate alone.

QuickCash Finance short-term loan FAQs

How much can I borrow, and does the amount affect the fees?

QuickCash’s application lists $200–$500 unsecured and $501–$20,000 secured, subject to approval. The establishment fee rises from $175 to $250 above $500, then to $350 above $1,000. Those thresholds matter when comparing similar loan amounts: borrowing slightly more can increase the upfront charge substantially. The inspected fee schedule does not specify an establishment charge above $5,000.

How expensive is a $500 QuickCash loan compared with another small loan?

The published $175 establishment fee equals 35% of a $500 advance, before interest and the $5.34 weekly administration charge. As a fees-only illustration, 13 weekly administration charges would add $69.42, bringing those fees to $244.42 before interest or other applicable costs. This calculation assumes the published charges apply; it does not establish that a 13-week term is available. Compare quotations for the same cash received and repayment date using the published fee schedule.

Can I use QuickCash for a few weeks rather than commit to a longer loan?

A contractual term of only a few weeks could not be verified. QuickCash’s advertising-policy page states one to five years, although its pricing information conflicts with other disclosures. Early repayment may allow you to close a longer agreement sooner, but that does not make its upfront costs equivalent to a purpose-built short-term loan. Request a quotation showing the cost of settlement on your intended date.

Can I apply without a vehicle, or is the unsecured option genuinely available?

The application form includes an unsecured option, but QuickCash’s FAQ says all loans require security. Availability therefore needs confirmation before applying. For vehicle-backed borrowing, the FAQ specifies a vehicle in your name, without outstanding finance, with current registration and a warrant of fitness, worth more than the amount borrowed. Compare this asset exposure with an unsecured offer, particularly if you rely on the vehicle for work.

Does QuickCash’s willingness to consider bad credit include its smallest loans?

Not necessarily. Its FAQ says a poor credit history may be considered alongside affordability, security and the requested amount. However, the unsecured $200–$500 application option specifically asks for good credit with no bad debts. The broader bad-credit wording should therefore not be treated as confirmation that the smallest unsecured loans are available to those applicants. Ask which product and security requirements would apply to your circumstances.

Is the advertised 12.5% interest rate relevant to a small cash loan?

The 12.5% rate appears against particular first-mortgage lending conditions, including a registered valuation and a low loan-to-value ratio—the loan amount relative to the property’s value. QuickCash’s responsible lending table separately lists unsecured rates of 26%–29.99%. Because its published tables differ, compare your written rate and total charges with equivalent secured or unsecured offers. The lowest headline rate is not a reliable estimate for a small emergency advance.

What costs remain if I repay a QuickCash loan early?

QuickCash states that it charges no early repayment fee, and its administration charge applies while the loan remains active. Earlier settlement can reduce future interest and administration charges, but you should ask whether any establishment charge is refundable. Obtain an itemised settlement figure for a specific date. Adding together the remaining scheduled instalments would include future costs that may not apply after the account is closed.

Could required insurance make a secured QuickCash loan more expensive?

Yes, if meeting the insurance requirement creates an additional premium or requires broader cover. Clause 32 of the example secured contract requires collateral goods to be insured to their full insurable value, with the lender’s interest recorded. That can involve insuring an asset worth considerably more than the loan. Check whether existing cover satisfies the requirement, and compare any additional premium, excess and exclusions alongside the borrowing charges.

What happens to the cost if I miss a repayment, and what help is available?

Published default charges include $1.55 per day, charged weekly, and 8% annual default interest on the overdue amount; reminder and recovery costs may also apply. Ask how default interest operates alongside ordinary interest. QuickCash’s hardship process requests a written application and 90 days of bank statements. Contact 0800 784 252 promptly: requesting assistance does not itself confirm that charges or recovery action have been suspended.
