Future Finance
Review Future Finance business loans in NZ, including interest rates, fees, eligibility and repayment options. Pricing by quote; subject to approval.
Review basis: Reviewed on 21 October 2026 using Future Finance’s official business loan page, interest disclosures, fee schedule, FAQs, contract page, privacy statement and complaints procedure. Business lending is offered, but business-specific borrowing limits, standard fees and complete eligibility requirements were not verified. The fee schedule dated 16 March 2026 explicitly covers consumer contracts; those charges are not presented here as business pricing. Suitability and comparison comments are editorial assessments.
Future Finance business loans: summary
- Provider and purpose: Future Finance Limited offers direct business lending for needs such as equipment, cash flow and expansion, including enquiries from sole traders and established companies.
- Amounts and terms: Business-specific minimum and maximum amounts and a confirmed repayment-term range were not verified. Request these in your written quotation.
- Interest and APR: The business page advertises fixed rates, with pricing quoted individually. No separate fee-inclusive business APR was identified in the reviewed sources.
- Fees and security: Obtain a business fee schedule and confirmation of any security, personal guarantee or compulsory insurance. The published consumer fee schedule does not establish these business costs or conditions.
- Eligibility and application: Apply online or call 0800 25 10 10. Approval depends on assessment; business turnover, trading-history and document thresholds were not confirmed.
- Suitability and limitation: Potentially relevant where repayments need to reflect business cash flow. The main limitation is that a meaningful cost comparison requires an individual business quotation.
Alexander Balanoff on Future Finance
For a small business owner, loan affordability depends on when customers pay, as well as how much the business earns. When assessing a Future Finance offer, I would check whether repayments remain manageable if a major customer pays a month late. Work out what would remain for tax, wages and your own essential living costs. At LoansFinder, we encourage that practical comparison alongside the total repayment and any personal liability. If covering a business shortfall would leave your household struggling, the proposed borrowing needs another look.
Future Finance business loan eligibility and documents
Future Finance does not provide a complete business eligibility checklist on the reviewed product page. Confirm whether it accepts your business structure, trading history and financial position before submitting a full application. Do not assume that its general personal-loan criteria establish business eligibility.
Its privacy statement describes identity verification, credit reporting and assessment of financial information, including banking history. Be prepared to explain the borrowing purpose, existing commitments and how repayments will be funded. Ask which identification, business accounts, bank statements, tax records or forecasts are required for your application.
Check who will legally owe the money: you personally, your company, or both through a personal guarantee. If assets secure the borrowing, understand which assets are exposed if repayments fail.
Who should consider this business loan?
Future Finance may be worth comparing for a defined purchase or temporary cash-flow gap where the business can identify a credible repayment source. Its stated willingness to discuss repayments around business cycles is useful only if the written schedule matches when cash actually arrives.
Reconsider borrowing to cover persistent losses without a realistic recovery plan. For recurring working-capital needs, compare an overdraft; for equipment, compare asset finance. Assess these alongside using the same amount and repayment period.
How to apply and manage repayments
Application process
- Start through Future Finance’s business loan page or call 0800 25 10 10.
- The team contacts you to verify details and complete its assessment. Confirm the business documents and any security it needs.
- Review the written quotation, repayment schedule and agreement before signing. Check the net funds received against the total amount financed.
Approval and funding time
Future Finance says funds could reach your account within 60 minutes after approval, signing and completion. This is not a 60-minute application-to-approval promise. Its FAQs also make access to funds subject to bank processing.
Repayment support and complaints
If a payment is becoming difficult, its repayment guidance directs customers to 0800 25 10 50. Ask which arrangements are available under your business agreement and whether changing repayments adds costs.
For complaints, contact hello@futurefinance.co.nz or 0800 25 10 10. Its complaints procedure identifies Financial Services Complaints Limited as its external dispute-resolution service. If unresolved, ask FSCL whether your business complaint falls within its scope; its published contact number is 0800 347 257.
Questions to ask before signing
- How much reaches the business after deductions, and what is the total repayment including every compulsory cost?
- Is the quoted interest rate fixed throughout the term, and how is interest calculated?
- Which assets, personal guarantees or insurance policies are required? If protection is offered, what exclusions and claim limits apply?
- Can repayments follow seasonal cash flow, and does that arrangement increase interest or fees?
- What would it cost to repay early, make extra payments or change the schedule?
- When does default interest start, which balance attracts it, and what recovery charges can follow?
Advantages and limitations
- Potential advantages: Direct discussion with the lender, fixed-rate business lending and scope to negotiate a repayment structure around business cycles.
- Limitations: Public information does not establish a complete business price or qualification checklist. Security and insurance conditions need confirmation, while the published business default-interest provision makes missed repayments a material cost risk.
Future Finance business loan rates, fees and total cost
The general interest page lists fixed rates of 11.99%–27.99% p.a. and terms of six months to five years, but separately directs business borrowers to a specialist quotation. Their application to a particular business facility was not verified. These annual interest rates are not a published fee-inclusive business APR.
The fee schedule current at 16 March 2026 explicitly applies to consumer contracts. Obtain a business schedule covering establishment, account administration, security registration, legal work, variations, early settlement and default or recovery costs, where applicable. Compulsory insurance and optional protection costs also remain to be confirmed.
Business default interest: Future Finance publishes a rate six percentage points above the contracted annual interest rate, charged and compounded daily on the unpaid balance and other overdue amounts while default continues. The wording extends beyond the missed instalment, so ask the lender to explain its effect on your proposed balance.
No business-specific repayment example was verified. Request a schedule showing net funds received, financed fees, repayment amounts, interest and the total payable. Our assessment is that comparing only the regular instalment would miss the effect of a longer term or costs added to the balance.
Our assessment of Future Finance business loans
Future Finance’s strongest stated feature is flexibility in structuring business repayments. Its main limitation is the lack of a complete public business pricing schedule. A written offer is therefore essential to assess value.
The decisive comparison is whether the business can meet repayments during a slower trading period at an acceptable total cost and level of personal exposure. A schedule that works only when customers pay promptly leaves little room for the published default charges.
Future Finance business loan FAQs
What can a Future Finance business loan fund?
The business page identifies equipment purchases, cash-flow needs and growth opportunities. Confirm that your intended use is accepted.
How much can my business borrow?
A business-specific minimum or maximum was not verified. Ask the business team for the amount available following assessment; the previous $80,000 figure should not be treated as a confirmed current limit.
What interest rate will I pay?
You need an individual business quotation. The website-wide rate range does not establish the rate or complete cost of your business offer.
Can a start-up apply?
The reviewed sources do not establish start-up eligibility or a minimum trading period. Confirm acceptance before preparing a full application.
Are the business loans unsecured?
Unsecured availability was not confirmed. Ask whether assets, a property interest, a personal guarantee or insurance are required.
Will Future Finance check my credit history?
Its FAQs confirm credit checks with authorisation. Ask whether the assessment will cover the business, its owners and any proposed guarantors.
Can I repay the business loan early?
Request the business agreement’s early-settlement terms and a settlement quotation. General FAQ wording about early repayment does not establish that a business facility has no exit costs.
Can I receive the money on the same day?
It may be possible after approval and completion, but assessment time and bank processing affect availability. Confirm timing before committing to a supplier payment.
